Bacteriostatic Water
Price range: $5.00 through $8.00 Availability: In Stock

KPV is a naturally occurring tripeptide (Lysine–Proline–Valine), derived from the C-terminal sequence of the α-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH). It is recognized for its potent anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory properties, achieved through the inhibition of NF-κB signaling and the downregulation of pro-inflammatory cytokines. By reducing local and systemic inflammation, KPV supports gastrointestinal health, wound healing, and skin barrier function. Beyond inflammation control, emerging research highlights its potential in neuroprotection, antimicrobial defense, and chronic disease modulation, positioning KPV as a promising therapeutic candidate across multiple systems.

Friendly reminder: All peptides come in a pure, lyophilized (freeze-dried) form. Bacteriostatic Water is required to reconstitute the peptide. We do sell Bacteriostatic water in our store.

Key Research Areas:

  • Anti-Inflammatory Mechanisms
KPV (Lysine–Proline–Valine), a naturally occurring tripeptide fragment of α-MSH, exhibits potent anti-inflammatory activity. It downregulates pro-inflammatory cytokines (e.g., TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6) and modulates NF-κB signaling, making it a candidate for conditions driven by chronic inflammation.
  • Gastrointestinal Health & Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD)
Demonstrated efficacy in preclinical models of colitis and Crohn’s disease by reducing intestinal inflammation, supporting epithelial barrier integrity, and promoting mucosal healing. Research suggests potential therapeutic applications for ulcerative colitis and other inflammatory gut disorders.
  • Wound Healing & Tissue Repair
KPV accelerates cutaneous wound closure by promoting keratinocyte migration, fibroblast proliferation, and angiogenesis. Its dual anti-inflammatory and pro-repair activity make it a focus for chronic wounds, burns, and post-surgical recovery.
  • Skin Health & Dermatological Applications
Topical KPV shows promise in reducing inflammation in atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, and acne. Its ability to modulate local immune responses without systemic side effects is of particular interest for dermatology.
  • Immune Regulation
Functions as an immunomodulator, balancing pro- and anti-inflammatory signaling. Preclinical findings suggest roles in autoimmune conditions and systemic inflammatory syndromes.
  • Neuroinflammation & Brain Health
Early studies indicate KPV may cross the blood–brain barrier and attenuate neuroinflammatory processes, with implications in neurodegenerative conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease and multiple sclerosis.
  • Anti-Microbial Potential
Some data suggest KPV possesses direct antimicrobial properties, inhibiting bacterial growth and supporting innate immune defense at epithelial surfaces.
  • Systemic Inflammation & Chronic Disease
By regulating inflammatory cascades, KPV is being investigated for metabolic disorders, cardiovascular inflammation, and arthritis, highlighting its broad therapeutic potential.

  • Product Care and Storage – All products are shipped using the Lyophilization process, which ensures that products remain stable for shipping for up to 3-4 months. Products must be reconstituted to a liquid, by mixing with bacteriostatic water for research and testing.
  • Lyophilized or powder form – Store in cool, dry place away from light; can be stored at room temperature. Remains stable for several weeks or more.
For long term storage (months to years) freezing is optimal to preserve stability and maintain integrity.
  • Reconstituted form Refrigerate under 39F; peptides will remain stable for up to 30 days.
  • Usage – We are unable to provide any dosing instructions, however all products should be considered pharmaceutical grade.
  • Disclaimer – This product is for research use only and is not intended for human consumption, diagnostic use, or clinical treatment. Proper laboratory safety protocols should always be followed when handling peptides.
